About Frame Dispatch
Welcome to my film journal set between Whistler, Vancouver, and festival cinemas.
My name is Radek Velicka, and I write about films that stay with me — whether they are Korean thrillers, European gems, festival discoveries, or new Czech releases.
I started this project because I wanted my own space for film reviews, festival notes, and cultural reflections. I began writing in Czech, and over time I added this English edition so international readers, filmmakers, and film communities could follow along as well.

🎬 Festival coverage from the ground
I cover festivals through on-the-ground diaries, reviews, interviews, and wrap-ups — including events such as Whistler Film Festival (WFF), Vancouver International Film Festival (VIFF), Victoria Film Festival (VFF), and SXSW as I continue expanding my festival coverage. My goal is to write in a way that makes you feel like you’re standing next to me in the queue for a screening.
🌍 A cross-cultural perspective
I write about global cinema while also introducing Czech films to international readers and international festival titles to Czech audiences.
